ALL Aluminum Conductor(AAC)

Bare concentric-lay-stranded aluminum wires constructed with a straight round central aluminum wire surrounded by one or more layers of helically laid aluminum wires. The most commonly used stranding consists of 7, 19, 37, 61 and 91 wires.In all constructions, the successive layers shall have opposite directions of lay, the outermost layer being right-handed.

AAC conductor is also known as aluminum stranded conductor. AAC conductor is manufactured from electrolytically refined (E.C.GRADE) aluminum, having purity of minimum 99.5% of aluminum (with minimum Conductivity of 61%). AAC conductor is used mainly in urban areas because the spacing is short and the supports are close.All aluminum conductors are made up of one or more strands of aluminum wire depending on the end usage. AAC conductors are also used extensively in coastal areas because they have a very high degree of corrosion resistance.
