Scope of application:
This equipment is used to measure the thermal insulation performance of materials used in protective clothing when exposed to hot surfaces up to 600 ° F (316 ° C) for a short period of time. This method is applicable to materials used in protective clothing structures, including but not limited to: woven fabrics, knitted fabrics, laths, sheet structures, and material composites, used to protect clothing exposed to hot surfaces. It should be used to measure the response characteristics of materials, products or components to heat under controlled laboratory conditions. It should not be used to describe or evaluate the thermal hazards or risks of materials, products or components under actual exposure conditions.
