Test Purpose
- Clamp down through the vise or hydraulic pressure cylinder with cylindrical piston to squeeze single battery or battery unit between two planes. Continue squeezing until pressure reaches approximately 13kN. Safety performance is examined - qualified batteries show no fire or explosion during testing.
- Simulates battery penetration by sharp objects during use, storage, transportation, or inspection, causing internal short circuits. Pierces battery center position with high-temperature resistant steel needle (2-8mm diameter) at 10mm/s-40mm/s speed. Qualified batteries show no explosion or fire.
