Martensitic stainless steels are characterized by high strength and hardness in the heat-treated
condition. Martensitic grades are magnetic in both the annealed and hardened (heat treated) condition.
The downstream manufacturer performs final heat treatment to meet the mechanical properties required.
Applications for the martensitic stainless steels include cutlery, knives, scissors, industrial blades,
food processing blades, specialty blades, surgical and dental instruments, measuring tools, molds, electronics,
automotive, mechanical engineering parts, valves, pump parts and components for energy and power generation.
