Ferritic AISI 445 , EN 1.4621 cold rolled stainless steel sheet and coil
New generation ferritic marine Stainless Steel Grade 445 can be used to replace the traditional
marine grade 316 in most applications. It is a ferritic, corrosion resistant steel with excellent
strength, toughness, fabrication characteristics and weldability.
The general corrosion resistance of 445 is at least as good as grade 316, with better resistance to atmospheric corrosion, stress corrosion cracking and sensitization to intergranular corrosion.
Typical Applications
Roofing, walling, awnings and fascias, hot water tanks, drums, barrels, heat exchangers, chemical and
food processing, water treatment plant, chemical processing equipment, architectural and boat fittings exposed to marine and polluted atmospheres, street furniture, electrical cabinets, freezer trays.
