AISI 446 EN 1.4749 DIN X18CrN28 Stainless Steel Round Bar, Drawn Wire
Grades 1.4713 1.4724 1.4742 1.4749 1.4762 are a series of ferritic heat resisting stainless steels
with varying amounts of silicon, chromium and aluminium.
They are useful for temperatures up to 1150°C depending on grade.
Characteristic properties
- Excellent resistance to oxidising and reducing sulphur
- containing atmospheres
- Good resistance to oxidation
- High thermal conductivity – low thermal expansion
Applications include:
Heat exchangers, furnaces, molten metal baths, high temperature nozzles, heat treatment boxes.
