EN 1.4057 Stainless Steel Plates DIN X17CrNi16-2 AISI 431 Sheets

Martensitic stainless steels contain more than 10.5% chromium and their mechanical properties

can be adjusted by heat treatment, they fall into 4 subgroups.

1. Fe-Cr-C steels, typical grades ASTM 410, 420, EN 1.4006, 1.4021, 1.4028, 1.4031 and 1.4034, 440A/B/C ..

2. Ni-bearing grades, in which Ni replaces some of the C, compared to the previous group, they offer a higher 

toughness particularly at low temperatures. 

Their higher Cr content leads to higher corrosion resistance.

Mo additions improve further the corrosion resistance.

Typical grades ASTM 431, EN 1.4057, 1.4313, 1.4418

3. Precipitation hardening stainless steels, offer the best combination of strength and toughness.

Typical grades ASTM 630, 631, 632, 17-4PH, 17-7PH, PH15-7Mo, 15-5PH

EN 1.4542, 1.4568, 1.4532 

4. Creep resisting grades, with about 11% Cr, additions of Co, Nb, V and B which increase of high temperature

strength and creep resistance, up to 650℃.

thick plates e.g. 20mm, 30mm, 40mm etc.
