Super Duplex Stainless Steel 2507 ASTM A789 Duplex Steel Tube Annealed
Super Duplex tubing (2507) is made from a Duplex stainless steel, developed as a result of the growing need to solve corrosion problems in Sweden’s sulfite paper industry in the early twentieth century. As the name implies, Duplex alloys are a group of stainless steels – including Duplex, Lean Duplex, 25-Chrome and Super Duplex – with roughly equal portions of austenite and ferrite steel. The chemical composition improves intergranular and pitting corrosion resistance.
Super Duplex 2507 tubing (S32750, S32760) has excellent general corrosion resistance, including excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking, a tremendous resistance to pitting corrosion and a high resistance to crevice corrosion. 2507 tubing also provides high tensile and impact strength, along with a low coefficient of thermal expansion but high thermal conductivity and good weldability.
