Super Duplex 2507 Stainless Steel (UNS S32750 and UNS S32760)

 

Certain projects require the use of materials that provide exceptional strength and corrosion resistance. Duplex 2507 stainless steel exceeds the standard requirements of stainless steel, with a 2507 alloy that combines the benefits of chromium, molybdenum and nickel within a single steel material. Super duplex 2507 is highly useful in corrosive environments where resistance to crevice corrosion and pitting is a must. Due to these beneficial qualities, 2507 is extremely useful in a wide range of industrial applications throughout the world.

 

Duplex Alloy 2507 is a super duplex stainless steel with 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum and 7% nickel. It has excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, high thermal conductivity, and a low coefficient of thermal expansion. The high chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen levels provide excellent resistance to pitting, crevice and general corrosion. The impact strength is also high. Duplex Alloy 2507 is not recommended for applications which require long exposures to temperatures above 570 °F because of the risk of a reduction in toughness.
