Grade 410 UNS S41000 Ferritic Stainless Steel Tube Standard ASTM A268

 

 

Alloy 410S stainless steel is a low carbon modification of Type 410 stainless steel. Low carbon and optionally a small addition of titanium and/ or columbium minimize austenite formation at high temperatures, thereby restricting the alloy's ability to harden. The material remains soft and ductile even when the material is rapidly cooled from above the critical temperature. This low hardening characteristic helps to prevent cracking when the steel is welded or exposed to high temperatures. The alloy is completely ferritic in the annealed condition. 410S is ferromagnetic.

 

Ferritic stainless steels are classified in the 400 series, usually with 10% to 30% chromium content, and are often chosen for their excellent corrosion resistance and elevated temperature oxidation resistance. With greater strength than carbon steels, ferritics provide an advantage in many applications where thinner materials and reduced weight are necessary, such as automotive emission control systems. They are nonhardenable by heat treating and are always magnetic. Typical applications for ferritic stainless steels include petrochemical,automotive exhaust systems and trim, heat exchangers, furnaces, appliances and food equipment to name a few.

1. Chemical Composition Analysis Test With 100% PMI.

2. Solution Annealing / Bright Annealed.

3. 100% Hydrostatic Test and 100% Eddy Current Test

4. Mechanical Tests includes Tension Test, Flattening Test, Flaring Test, Hardness Test.

5. Impact Test subject to Standard request.

6. Grain Size Test and Intergranular Corrosion Test.

7. Visual Test and Endoscope Test for Surface Quality Test

 

Grade 410S is a ferritic stainless steel that is a lowcarbon variation of ferritic type 410 stainless steel. Due to the lower level of carbon and the addition oftitanium and/or columbium, this alloy minimizesaustenite formation at higher temperatures. This alsoprevents hardening and prevents cracking whenwelding.

 

 

TP410 is a typical martensitic chromium-alloy steel grade. It does not have the nickel content and owns the following characteristic:
 

- Harding by heat treatment
- High hardness with good ductility
- Good corrosion resistance capability
- Good wear corrosion resistance
- High cold-deformation property
