Description

DCL electric actuator can perfect used for 3 point floating type control system, that is commonly used in HVAC field.

Floating control is a variation of On/Off control that requires a fast responding sensor and a slow-moving actuator connected to the final controlled device (valve or damper). When the sensed temperature rises beyond or drops below the set point, the controller sends a signal to activate the actuator on the final device. The actuator starts to slowly drive open or close the hot water valve, increasing or decreasing the heat in the controlled medium. When set point is approached, the actuator stops the final control device (hot water valve) and tries to hold at set point.

So self-locking of electric actuator is the key feature for floating control system. If without self-locking, actuator easily moves away from set point and causes whole system frequently starts and repeats swings in a very small range, which finally result in abrasion of gears.
