Gantry Seam Automatic Welding System
1. Production description
The machine is free-standing, and all controls are built into the rear frame. Nema 4/12 housing with circuit breaker. Provides a remote suspension control, through the 1-turn potentiometer, start/stop, forward/backward and automatic/manual selector switch to provide convenience for the operator. The operation of the fingerboard is separate and controlled by the foot pedal. The microprocessor is used to control many wire functions, including speed control, start/stop delay and wire retraction distance. Standard controls include air pressure regulator.
Full-length, precision-customized side beams run through the entire length of the machine. The side beam assembly is adjustable to align and level with the mandrel and welded joint. The station wagon uses a rack and pinion design to provide forward travel. A cable tray with a support frame is provided behind the side beams to support and capture the cables and hoses entering the welding head.
Bracket over-travel limit switch and adjustable welding length limit switch are standard configurations. Side beams with rack and pinion drive carriages and optional welding equipment can be arranged to allow specified stroke lengths.
