Introduction :

Nd: YAG (Yttrium aluminum garnet doped with neodymium Nd: Y3Al5O12) is a common laser crystal. Because of its many basic performances, Nd: YAG is still often used in near-far-infrared solid-state lasers.

The main advantage of this crystal is the neodymium ion which provides the leasing activity in crystal because it replaces a small fraction of yttrium ions in the crystal. Nd: YAG is mainly used as a laser in industrial, medical,and scientific applications.
