Introduction :
Terbium gallium garnet (Tb3Ga5O12, TGG) is an important magneto-optical material for visible light and near-infrared spectroscopy (400-470nm and 500-1500nm). TGG crystal has a large Verdet constant (35RadT−1m−1 at 1064nm), high thermal conductivity (7.4Wm−1K−1), low optical loss (<0.1%/cm), and high laser damage threshold (>1GW/cm2) ). Therefore, it is a very attractive Faraday rotating crystal, suitable for making magneto-optical isolators, magneto-optical switches, magneto-optical modulators, etc. It is widely used in YAG, titanium-doped sapphire, and other multi-stage amplification, ring, seed injection lasers.
In recent years, the growth of large-size and high-quality TGG crystals has always been a hot research topic in the field of crystal materials. With the unremitting efforts of the professional R&D team, Crystal has successfully grown TGG crystals with a diameter of 100mm in June 2020.
