ST stands for straight tip, a high-performance fiber-optic connector with round ceramic ferrules and bayonet locking features. ST connectors are more common than SC connectors.

The ST connector is designed to work with the thread coupling mechanism. It come with a pre-polished ferrule that is made with zirconia material. It can be terminated quickly and economically in field or factory setting.
