Purpose:
1. It is used in industry to produce iron salts, ink, iron oxide red and ingot green, wood preservatives and disinfectants, and widely used as iron supplements and chromogenic agents in feed and food additives.
2. It is used as fertilizer, herbicide and pesticide in agriculture. It can also be used as fertilizer, as a catalyst for plant chlorophyll production, and plays an important role in plant uptake.
3. It is mainly used for industrial sewage and municipal domestic sewage treatment. It can remove phosphate from municipal and industrial sewage and prevent eutrophication of water body. Ferrous sulfate is mostly used as coagulant in turbid water treatment. Because of its acidity after hydrolysis, it is often combined with lime in practice. Its prominent feature is reducibility, and it is often used to treat wastewater with high valence heavy metal ions. The water treatment agent ferrous sulfate can be used wet and dry, and must be mixed evenly after dosing. The pH value should be neutral or weak alkaline, and the effect of lime is better. The dosage should depend on the water quality passing the test.
4. It is used as a local astringent and blood tonic in medicine. The iron contained in it is the raw material for the synthesis of hemoglobin in vivo.
