The function of magnesium fluoride for electrolytic aluminum : lowing the melting point of electrolyte: magnesium fluoride can increase the surface tension of electrolyte, which plays a positive role in reducing the redissolution loss of aluminum and promoting the separation of carbon residues in the electrolyte:
magnesum fluoride can be used for manufacturing pottery and glass,as the consolvent for smelting magnesium metal and as coating for the lens adn liight filter of optical instruments.It is also used as fluorescent material for cathode ray screen,catadioptric agent and solder for optical lens and coating agent for titanium pigment.
