Impedance: a good matching of impedance is required before any ultrasonic welding action, The purpose of impedance matching is to ensure signal integrity, colloquially speaking, it is to prevent the deformation of waveform generation and transmission. If impedance matching is not carried out and the sender sends a sine wave, the receiver may not receive a sine wave anymore, so that the waveform will be distorted in the time domain or the overall amplitude will change.
For piezoelectric ceramic materials, as long as the waveform has a certain peak value, it can vibrate and send out the energy, but in theory, the sinusoidal wave has the highest energy transfer efficiency, if the waveform distorts, the energy transfer efficiency of the system shall be reduced.
Frequency: The ultrasonic converters can only work at its own resonance frequency, so the ultrasonic power box, welding sonotrode should all work at the same frequency. Generally speaking, this difference should be no more than ±0.1kHz, the smaller, the better matching.
