How do piezoelectric ceramics work?

1. Place a piezoelectric ceramic between two different metal materials plates. The ceramic’s structure stays in balance.

2. Apply AC  electrical energy to the ceramics, which shrinks and expands the ceramic’s structure.

3. As the ceramic’s structure expands and contracts, it converts the received electrical energy and releases mechanical energy in the form of a sound wave.

The ultrasonic transducer consists of piezoelectric ceramic discs backed with a shell matching layer and a Cymbal array receiver, which converts the input electrical power into mechanical power (i.e., ultrasound) and transmits to the horn/mold, consuming a small fraction of the power itself.

Piezoelectric materials of piezoelectric ceramic discs: PZT4, PZT5, PZT8, or other required piezoelectric materials.
