Applying a force to the piezoelectric ceramic will make it produce voltage, and this process is the positive piezoelectric effect. Applying a voltage to piezoelectric ceramic causes it to vibrate, a process known as the inverse piezoelectric effect. And the ultrasonic transducer is made by using this piezoelectric effect.
