What is ultrasound?
 
Ultrasound, that is, ultrasonic wave, is a kind of mechanical wave. The sound wave frequency that our human ears can hear is 20~20000Hz. When the frequency of the sound wave is greater than 20000Hz or less than 20HZ, we cannot hear it. Therefore, we put the frequency higher than Sound waves at 2000HZ are called "ultrasound". Ultrasonic waves have good directionality and strong penetrating ability. They are easy to obtain concentrated sound energy and can propagate far in water. They can be used for distance measurement, speed measurement, cleaning, welding, gravel, sterilization and disinfection, etc.
The frequency of ultrasound usually used for medical diagnosis is 2~10MHz.
