Stud Bolts are externally threaded fasteners without a head, used with 2 nuts on either side, substituting a usual "bolt & nut" assembly. Stud bolts are prominently used in flange connections. Depending upon their design and threading patterns, there are different types of stud bolts .
A193 Grade B7: Alloy steel, AISI 4140 / 4142 quenched and tempered.
A193 Grade B8, Class 1: Stainless steel, AISI 304, carbide solution treated.
A193 Grade B8, Class 2: Stainless steel, AISI 304, carbide solution treated, strain hardened.
A193 Grade B8M, Class 1: Stainless steel, AISI 316, carbide solution treated.
A193 Grade B8M, Class 2: Stainless steel, AISI 316, carbide solution treated, strain hardened.
A193 Grade B16: Alloy steel, chromium-molybdenum-vanadium, quenched and tempered.
