Description

The SPO2 module is a replace part of the Welch Allyn vital signs patient monitor machine, can be used to measurement the SPO2 information of the patient.

SpO2 measurement uses pulse oximetry, a continuous, non-invasive method for determining the oxygen saturation (functional saturation) of hemoglobin. It measures how much light emitted from the sensor light source on one side passes through the patient's tissue (such as fingers and ears) to reach the receiver on the other side. The amount of light that passes through depends on many factors, most of which are constant. However, arterial blood flow changes regularly over time because it pulsates. By measuring the light absorbed by the sensor during the patient's pulsation, the oxygen saturation of the arterial blood can be obtained, and a "plethysmographic" waveform and pulse rate value can be obtained.

All vital-sign measurements are displayed on the front panel, these measurements can also be printed out. The monitor provides programmable audible and visual alarms and automatic NIBP measurements at optional intervals.
