WARNING
- Battery electrolyte is hazardous. If battery electrolyte comes into contact with skin or eyes, immediately rinse with clean water and seek medical attention.
- Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
- Battery life is limited. If the battery charge becomes too low, the ventilator will issue a technical alarm [Battery Low] and the ventilator must be connected to an external power supply. Connect external power before the battery is discharged, as a complete power failure can result in serious injury to the patient.
- The expected life of a lithium-ion battery is 300 charge/discharge cycles. Replace the battery when its life is over.
- When the ventilator's battery is low, the ventilator activates a high priority low battery alarm. The fan will automatically turn off safely.
Note
- If the battery will not be used for a long period of time, remove the battery and store it properly. To ensure proper performance, charge the battery after each use.
- Do not use or store the battery in extreme heat or direct sunlight. Otherwise, the battery may overheat. This can result in reduced battery performance and shorter battery life.
- It is not recommended to charge the battery pack and the battery used as a power source in extreme operating temperatures (-18°C to 5°C/45 to 50°C).
- You can extend battery life by reducing the LCD brightness, reducing the inspiratory pressure and tidal volume, and reducing the respiratory rate setpoint.
Optimizing Battery Performance
When using the battery for the first time, allow the battery to go through at least two full optimization cycles. A full optimization cycle consists of continuously charging and discharging the battery until the fan turns off, then continuing to charge the battery. Battery performance will gradually deteriorate over time. It is recommended to optimize the battery every three months. If the battery has not been optimized for a long time, the battery charge indication may not be accurate.
1) Disconnect all connections between the ventilator and the patient and turn off the ventilator.
2) Ensure that the battery is inserted into the battery holder.
3) Connect the fan to an external power source and continue charging the battery until it is fully charged. 4) Disconnect the external power supply and power the fan using the battery until the battery is depleted and the fan automatically turns off.
5) Reconnect the fan to the external power supply and continue charging until the battery is fully charged.
6) Battery optimization is complete.
