DPF Catalytic Converter Overview
Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) wall-flow filters effectively reduce particulate matter emissions through advanced filtration and regeneration technology.
Operating Principle
DPF systems operate through two critical stages: particulate trapping and filter regeneration. During operation, accumulated particulate matter increases engine back pressure, requiring periodic regeneration to maintain optimal performance.
Regeneration Methods
Active Regeneration: Uses external energy sources (electric heaters, burners, engine adjustments) to raise filter temperature to 550°C for PM combustion.
Passive Regeneration: Utilizes fuel additives (cerium, iron, strontium) to lower PM ignition temperature, enabling combustion at normal exhaust temperatures.
