Experience has indicated suitability of particular shapes for specific uses. It remains the responsibility of the user to determine the suitability for use. To prevent thermal stress cracks on porcelain ware, CoorsTek strongly recommends a heating/cooling rate not to exceed 200° C/hour. High-alumina labware temperature change rate should not exceed 150° C/hour

Necessary clarifications:

Thin-walled crucibles are crucibles with a wall thickness of ≤ 5 mm.
Thick-walled crucibles are crucibles with a wall thickness > 5 mm.

Almost all crucibles are supplied with matching lids. When ordering a crucible with a lid, the lid number may change (if we can find a more suitable lid for your specific crucible).
