ALPHA-ARBUTIN promotes lightening and even skin tone on all skin types. It blocks epidermal melanin biosynthesis by inhibiting enzymatic oxidation of Tyrosine and Dopa. Structurely,
ALPHA-ARBUTIN is an α-glucoside. The α-glucoside bond offers higher stability and efficacy than the β-form in the related beta-arbutin. This leads to a skin lightening active that acts faster and more efficiently than existing single components, minimizes liver spots and reduces the degree of skin tanning after UV exposure.
