Tab-like corundum is a kind of pure sintered corundum without adding any additives such as MgO, B2O3 and so on. It has a coarse and well-developed α -al2o3 crystal structure, and the content of Al2O3 is more than 99%. Sheet crystal structure, small pores and more closed pores and porosity and fused corundum roughly equivalent, high purity, good volume stability, minimal reburning shrinkage, used for the production of refractory materials or castables after high temperature treatment has good thermal shock stability and flexural strength, but the price is higher than other alumina.

Tabular corundum can be as the main ingredients used in magnesium aluminum carbon, carbon, carbon, magnesium, magnesium aluminum spinel, aluminium chrome brick, also can be used as an enrichment of alumina composition is introduced into the high alumina monolithic refractories, can be widely used in steel, foundry, ceramic and other industries, the application in the steel industry almost covers the whole process of ironmaking steelmaking.
