Product Overview

This test apparatus is designed in full compliance with the requirements of IEC 62196-1:2022 Clause 26.3 (Figure 19) and IEC 60884-1:2022 Clause 24.10 (Figure 32). It is used to verify the mechanical strength of rewirable plugs and vehicle connectors fitted with flexible cables.

Test Principle
For IEC 60884-1

Fix the free end of the flexible cable to a wall at a height of 750 mm from the floor. Hold the specimen to keep the cable horizontal, then release it to drop freely onto a concrete floor for 8 times.

After each drop, rotate the flexible cable 45° at the fixing point.

Upon completion, the specimen shall show no damage as defined by the standard; in particular, no components shall become loose or detached.

For IEC 62196

Fix the free end of the flexible cable (with an additional flexible element, total length 2.25 m) to a wall at a height of 1 m from the floor.

Hold the specimen to keep the cable horizontal, then release it to drop freely onto a concrete floor for 8 times.

After each drop, rotate the cable 45° at the fixing point.
