This mechanical strength test apparatus evaluates the durability of rewirable plugs and electric vehicle connectors equipped with flexible cables according to international standards.
The testing methodology involves suspending the cable and an additional rope with a total length of 2.25 meters from a wall at 1 meter height. The sample is held horizontally and dropped onto a concrete floor eight times, with the cable rotated 45° between each drop to test all orientations.
After testing, samples must show no damage, maintain their IP rating, and not expose live parts. The apparatus ensures compliance with IEC 62196-1Ed.4CDV 2020 requirements for mechanical strength and durability.
