Polyacrylamide is mainly used in two aspects in the paper industry:

The other is to increase the strength of the paper. Adding polyacrylamide to the paper material can increase the retention rate of fine fibers and filler particles on the net and accelerate the dehydration of the paper material.

The mechanism of action of polyacrylamide is to retain the particles in the slurry on the filter cloth through electric neutralization or bridging and flocculation. The formation of flocs can also make it easier to filter out the water in the slurry, reduce the loss of fibers in the white water, reduce environmental pollution, and help improve the efficiency of filtration and sedimentation equipment.

It can also be used in acid sizing and neutral sizing papermaking systems. 2. Cationic polyacrylamide is used as a paper strengthening agent. The hydroxyl groups of the amide-based fibers of the cationic amide form hydrogen bonds between the fibers to enhance the bonding force between the fibers to achieve the purpose of increasing the strength of the paper. The cationic pam can also be used as a wet Strengthening agent increases the wet strength of the paper to resist water damage to the paper.
