Polyacrylamide is used to clarify sugar beet or sugar cane juice in sugar factories. Agglutination occurs when PAM is added to juice. Where PAM is used in sugar factories, there are processes such as sugar making, sugar factory sludge dewatering, and sewage treatment. For example, anionic polyacrylamide can be used to extract sugar. In production and life, PAM flocculant is widely used in food wastewater, such as wineries, wineries, sugar factories, meat processing plants, etc. Some things in daily life have flocculants.

The principle of polyacrylamide used in the clarification of fruit juice in sugar factories is closely related to the use characteristics of the flocculant PAM. There are the following points:
(1) Flocculation. Polyacrylamide can neutralize suspended substances by electricity, bridge adsorption, and flocculate.
(2) Adhesiveness, which can be bonded through mechanical, physical and chemical actions.
(3) Resistance is reduced. Polyacrylamide can effectively reduce the frictional resistance of the fluid. Adding a small amount of polyacrylamide to the water can reduce the electrical resistance by 50-80%.
(4) Thickening. Polyacrylamide has a thickening effect under neutral and acidic conditions. When the PH value is above 10, PAM is easily hydrolyzed. When it has a semi-net structure, the thickening will be more pronounced.
