Fenteng CT series is the most reactive hardener in our catalyst portfolio. It is predominantly intended for use in the 1^st vat, either with 100% UF-resin load or with UF-/MF-resin mixtures. Due to its reactivity profile Fenteng CT0015 is ideally suited for the impregnation of low pressure short cycle balancing paper, which may include the usage of 100% MF resin both in the 1^st and the 2^nd vats. Due to its good balance between latency and reactivity, very good resin curing can be achieved with no loss in transparency of the outer melamine resin layer. Furthermore, impregnated paper with CT0015 in the core layer and a more latent hardener in the outer layer provides a very good shelf life while the high reactivity of this catalyst simultaneously allows for very short press times.

Description:

Latent curing agent CT0015 is more reactive than Latent curing agent CT0012 for efficient press cycles. This hardener features adequate latency and resin pot life (approx. 6 hours).  CT0015 is primarily used in the first resin bath of a two-stage impregnation process – core impregnation with UF resins or UF/MF blends.

Application

The hardener is used either in one stage impregnation ( balance paper) or in the first vat of a two-stage impregnation line (UF-resin or UF-/MF-mixed resin).The dosage usually is 0.1%-0.3% of the MF/UF resin.
