This kit is based on one-step quantitative real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) technique. ORF1ab and E gene of novel coronavirus (SRAS-COV-2) are selected as amplification targets, and specific primers and fluorescent labelled probes are designed for the test. ORF1ab gene probe is labeled with FAM fluorescent dye, and E gene probe is labeled with HEX fluorescent dye. After the nucleic acid of clinical samples is extracted, one-step RT-PCR amplification is carried out and fluorescence signals are detected. The instrument software system automatically draws a real-time amplification curve. The human housekeeping RNase P gene is used as the internal control.

Our COVID-19 Nucleic Acid Detection Kit (qRT-PCR) for Molecular Diagnostic is targeted at ORF1ab, RNase P and E gene (based upon latest research from US FDA, COVID Omicron has mutation in N genes and S genes, and significantly lower the detection rate of the kits which target on these genes). But so far, there is no evidence to show that E gene has mutation occurred in Omicron. Therefore, our test kit can detect COVID Omicron as efficient as COVID Delta, Alpha, etc.

Storage condition
The specimen should be tested immediately if possible, or it can be stored at 4 ℃ up to 24 hours before testing. If further delay is expected, the specimen may be stored at -20℃ for no longer than 1 week or at -70℃ for longer period. The specimens should avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles during storage and transportation.
