This kit is based on one-step quantitative real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) technique. ORF1ab and E gene of novel coronavirus (SRAS-COV-2) are selected as amplification targets, and specific primers and fluorescent labelled probes are designed for the test. ORF1ab gene probe is labeled with FAM fluorescent dye, and E gene probe is labeled with HEX fluorescent dye. After the nucleic acid of clinical samples is extracted, one-step RT-PCR amplification is carried out and fluorescence signals are detected. The instrument software system automatically draws a real-time amplification curve. The human housekeeping RNase P gene is used as the internal control.

But so far, there is no evidence to show that E gene has mutation occurred in Omicron. Therefore, our test kit can detect COVID Omicron as efficient as COVID Delta, Alpha, etc.
