Product Overview

Piezoelectric Langasite (LGS) crystal wafers are engineered for high-temperature Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) sensor applications. These multifunctional crystals combine electro-optical effects with optical rotation capabilities, making them suitable as electro-optical crystals in demanding environments.

Technical Advantages
Enhanced Performance Characteristics

LGS crystals feature piezoelectric moduli approximately three times larger than quartz, delivering higher electromechanical coupling coefficients, increased bandwidth, and reduced insertion loss.

Compact Design Potential

With lower SAW phase velocity compared to quartz, LGS substrates enable smaller SAW device sizes since the finger width of interdigital transducers (IDTs) determines acoustic wavelength.

High Temperature Stability

Unlike quartz which has limited temperature application due to structural phase transitions, LGS crystals maintain structural stability up to melting point, enabling reliable SAW operation in elevated temperature sensor applications.
