No Need For External DC Power Magnesium Anode Cathodic Protection
Introduction:
Due to the high chemical activity of magnesium alloys, strong self-corrosion, and no dense protective film on the surface, the current efficiency of magnesium anodes is much lower than that of aluminum and zinc anodes, usually around 50%. The outstanding advantages of magnesium anode materials are low density, large theoretical capacitance, negative potential, low polarizability, and high driving voltage (>0.6 V) to steel.
