9D2-2 Magnesium Anodes Cathodic Protection for Water Heater
GB/T 17731-2015 Magnesium Anode Cathodic Protection For Natural Gas Storage Tanks
Introduction:
Galvanic corrosion occurs between two or more metals, and an electrochemical reaction exists. To perform this process, the metals involved need to differ in chemical stability, with one metal being more chemically active than the other metal involving both metals. Galvanic corrosion occurs when these metals come into contact with each other and are immersed in any liquid that has conductive properties. Saltwater, heavily polluted freshwater, or freshwater with a high mineral content are extremely conductive, and galvanic corrosion can be accelerated in these waters.
Magnesium sacrificial anodes use magnesium to have a negative potential, and its potential is lower than that of steel. It can be used to protect onshore pipelines and other buried structures, such as oil pipelines, natural gas pipelines, underground oil tanks, oil platforms, water heaters, etc.
