The vertical coal mill operates through a motor-driven grinding disc system. Material enters through the feeding port while hot air flows into the grinding chamber. Centrifugal force moves material toward the disc edge where grinding rollers crush it in circular grooves. High-speed airflow carries crushed material upward, with large particles returning for regrinding. A dynamic separator ensures only qualified fine powder proceeds to collection, while moisture is removed through contact with hot gas.
