OEM S-Plastic PEI Ultem Resin Pellets Bulk 1000 Standard Flow
S-Plastics Ultem resin series amorphous thermoplastic polyimide (PEI) resins have excellent heat resistance, high strength and rigidity, and a wide range of chemical resistance. Ultem offers transparent and opaque custom colors and glass fill levels. In addition, Ultem copolymers can meet higher thermal, chemical and elastic requirements.Ultem resin uniquely balances mechanical and processing properties, providing design engineers with excellent flexibility and freedom.
Ultem PEI advantages:
- Long term heat resistance:Due to the high glass transition temperature of 217 ° C, it has excellent physical and mechanical property stability at high temperature. Relative thermal index (RTI) available up to 180 ° C
- Rigidity and toughness:Among the alternatives available are excellent strength and amorphous thermoplastic with predictable stiffness and strength up to 200 ° C. Unfilled transparent grades have the same strength as other thermoplastics with opaque fillers.
- Dimensional stability:In the most dimensionally stable thermoplastics, predictability can be provided over a wide temperature range. Filling grade provides extremely high tolerance dimensional capability.
- Environmental stress and crack resistance:Unlike most other amorphous thermoplastics, ULTEM resins maintain strength and resist stress cracking when exposed to automotive and aircraft fluids, aliphatic hydrocarbons, alcohols, acids, and weak aqueous solutions.
- Flammability, smoke generation and toxicity:Inherent flame retardancy without additives in most grades - particularly difficult to ignite, with a limit oxygen index (LOI) of 47%, conforming to UL94 V0 specification and a thickness of only 0.41 mm. According to the NBS smoke evolution test, very low smoke is produced, and the toxicity of combustion products is not higher than that of wood.
- Easy to process:It can be extruded, thermoformed, extruded blow molded and injection molded, and the fluidity allows the use of traditional injection molding equipment up to a flow length of 0.2mm thick.
S-Plastics Ultem PEI 1000 is transparent, standard flow Polyimide (Tg 217C). ECO Conforming, UL94 V0 and 5VA listing. US FDA and EU Food Contact compliant, NSF 51 listing, compliant in natural color. Effective June, 2007 this grade will no longer be supported with biocompatibility information and should not be used for medical applications which require biocompatibility. Alternative grade HU1000.
