Why Deformed Rebar is so Effective
The main difference between deformed reinforcing steel bar and regular round steel bar is the surface texture, this enables the concrete to grip the steel bar more effectively. As a result, once the concrete has set, the steel bar is much less likely to slip or shift within the concrete as well creating additional stability.

Deformed bar is rated to 500 MPa (D500N) as opposed to round (smooth) reinforcing bar which is 250 MPa (D250N).
