FC fiber optic adapters are with metal or plastic housing, single-mode FC adapters are with zirconia sleeves, multi-mode FC adapters are with bronze sleeves.
ST fiber optic adapters are all threaded type with metal or plastic housing, single mode ones are with zirconia sleeve and multimode ones are with bronze sleeve.
LC Adapters were developed by Lucent Technologies. They are composed of a plastic housing with an RJ45 push-pull style clip.
SC fiber optic adapters are flange type, single mode adapters are with zirconia sleeve while multimode fiber adapters are with bronze sleeve.
MU adapters are approximately half the size of an SC coupler and utilize zirconia sleeves for precision alignment.
The E2000 connector and adapter have set the standard for optical fibre interconnect .With a shutter on both the connector and adapter to prevent laser eye damage the E2000 offers features no other connector can match. The E2000 aslo has a latched lever mechanism to prevent accidental disconnection.
