Let's talk about the differences between brushed and brushless motors of permanent magnet DC motors.

Their primary difference is that the excitation windings of brushed DC motors are replaced by permanent magnets.
Permanent magnet brushless: is a motor device that establishes a magnetic field by one or more permanent magnets, and its performance is similar to that of a separately excited DC device with constant excitation current, changing the armature voltage to facilitate speed regulation. Compared with separately excited DC motors, it has the advantages of small size, high efficiency, simple structure and low copper consumption, and is the primary type of low-power motor.
Permanent magnet brush: The stator of the brushed motor is equipped with a fixed main magnetic and brushes, and the rotor is equipped with an armature winding and commutator. The electrical energy of the DC power supply enters the armature winding through the brushes and commutators to generate an armature current, and the magnetic field generated by the armature current interacts with the main magnetic field to generate electromagnetic torque, so that the motor rotates with load. Because of the existence of brushes and commutators, the structure of brushed motors is more complicated.
