Organic synthetic raw materials, can be used to produce azelaic acid by oxidation, nonylamine by ammonia hydrogenation, and nonyl alcohol by pressure hydrogenation. Nonanoic acid is also used to produce nonyl ester plasticizers and paint drying agents. Nonanoic acid has a light fat and coconut aroma. It is allowed to be used as a food flavoring in accordance with GB2760-86 of my country. It is mainly used to prepare coconut and berry flavors.
