N,N'-Cycloimidoyl is soluble in water and also in organic solvents such as alcohols and ethers. It is extremely prone to deliquescence and decomposes into imidazole and carbon dioxide upon contact with water. Melting point: 117–122°C; approximate boiling point: 288.83°C; density: 1.303 g/mL at 25°C; refractive index n20/D:1.434; vapor pressure ranges from 0.006 to 0.012 Pa under 20–25°C.
Uses:
It is widely used as coupling & condensation reagent for peptide, biochemical and organic synthesis, also serves as key intermediate for pharma & agrochemicals.
