Product Description

Pure Nickel Metal N02200/Nickel 200/2.4060/NS5200/N5 Excelent Mechanical Properties In Various Applications

Pure Nickel Metal, designated as Nickel 200 or N02200, is a commercially pure form of nickel, with a high level of purity (typically 99.6% or higher). It is known for its excellent corrosion resistance, good mechanical properties, and ease of fabrication. Nickel 200 (UNS N02200) is a highly versatile material due to its excellent corrosion resistance, good mechanical properties, and ease of fabrication. It's commonly used in industries that require materials capable of withstanding harsh environments, especially those involving chemicals or high temperatures. Its non-magnetic nature, alongside good thermal and electrical properties, makes it useful in various high-tech, aerospace, and industrial applications.

Some key features of Nickel200 alloy include:

  • Composition:

Nickel: 99.6% minimum

Trace amounts of other elements like iron, copper, and carbon.

  • Mechanical Properties:

Tensile Strength: Approx. 370-550 MPa (depending on the specific form and temper).

Yield Strength: Approx. 170-275 MPa.

Elongation: Good ductility, with elongation values typically around 30-40%.

Hardness: Relatively low compared to other metals; it can be cold worked for increased hardness.

  • Corrosion Resistance:

Highly resistant to a wide range of corrosive environments, including alkaline solutions, sulfuric and hydrochloric acids (with some limitations), and many other chemicals.

Notable for its resistance to corrosion in sea water and industrial atmospheres.

Shows good resistance to stress corrosion cracking in many environments.

  • Thermal Properties:

Melting Point: Around 1455°C (2651°F).

Thermal Conductivity: Moderate, but lower than copper.

Coefficient of Expansion: Low, making it suitable for applications involving temperature variations.

  • Electrical and Magnetic Properties:

Good electrical conductivity, but not as high as copper.

Magnetic permeability is low, so it is non-magnetic, which makes it useful for electrical and electronic applications.

  • Weldability & Fabrication:

Nickel 200 has good weldability, typically using TIG or MIG welding.

Easily fabricated by processes like stamping, bending, and machining.

Can be cold worked to achieve higher strength and hardness.

Applications:

  • Electronics: Used in components like resistors and connectors.
  • Chemical Processing: Valves, pumps, and other equipment used in corrosive environments.
  • Food Processing: Equipment in contact with food, especially in environments requiring resistance to acids.
  • Aerospace & Defense: Aircraft engine components, high-temperature and corrosion-resistant applications.
  • Electrical: Lead frames, battery electrodes, and electrical contacts.

Forms Available:

  • Available as wire, sheet, plate, bar, and tube.
  • Wire: Nickel 200 wire (often in the form of thin wire or thicker strands) is widely used for manufacturing springs, electrodes, and for use in high-performance applications requiring corrosion resistance.
