Inconel X-750 Wire /N 07750/2.4669 Bar / Rod / Wire / Forging / Plate / Strip For High Mechanical Stresses And Extreme Temperatures
Inconel X-750 (UNS N07750 / W.Nr. 2.4669) is a nickel-chromium alloy made precipitation-hardenable by additions of titanium and aluminum. It offers excellent high-temperature strength, creep resistance, and oxidation resistance up to 980°C (1800°F). Widely used in aerospace, gas turbines, and nuclear reactors, it maintains mechanical properties under thermal stress and cyclic conditions. Its forms — Bar, Rod, Wire, Forging, Plate, and Strip — are suited for springs, bolts, turbine blades, and structural components. Inconel X-750 also resists corrosion and stress corrosion cracking, particularly in high-temp oxidizing and chloride-rich environments. It is easily fabricated and welded, making it a reliable choice for demanding high-performance applications.

Overview of Inconel X-750
Inconel X-750 is a precipitation-hardenable nickel-chromium alloy made for high strength and oxidation resistance at temperatures up to ~700°C (1300°F). It’s especially well-known for its excellent performance in high-temperature, high-stress environments, both in static and rotating components.
Key Features (All Forms)
High Temperature Strength
- Maintains high tensile and creep-rupture strength at elevated temperatures.
- Effective in applications up to 704°C (1300°F), and even higher with reduced stress.
Oxidation and Corrosion Resistance
- Resists oxidation, carburization, and chloride-induced corrosion.
- Works well in aerospace, nuclear, and chemical processing environments.
Good Stress Corrosion Cracking Resistance
- Particularly resistant to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in high-temperature, high-stress conditions.
- Excellent behavior in chloride-containing and aqueous media.
Good Fabricability & Weldability
- Can be formed using standard cold and hot working techniques.
- Can be welded using standard procedures (typically GTAW), but post-weld heat treatment may be necessary to regain full properties.
Age-Hardenable
- Strength is achieved via precipitation hardening, typically using a solution anneal followed by aging treatment.
Form-Specific Highlights
Bar / Rod
- Used in high-load fasteners, turbine blades, gas turbine seals, and nuclear reactor components.
- Excellent dimensional stability and heat resistance.
Wire
- Widely used in spring applications, sealing rings, and high-temp electrical heating elements.
- Excellent fatigue resistance, even at high temperatures.
Forging
- Forged into rings, turbine parts, jet engine components, and valve stems.
- Reliable for rotating components due to high fatigue and creep resistance.
Plate / Strip
- Used for nuclear reactor parts, gas turbine hot section components, and thermal shielding.
- Maintains mechanical properties and oxidation resistance during long-term exposure.
Common Applications & Industries
- Aerospace: Jet engines, turbine blades, exhaust systems
- Nuclear reactors: Control rod components, springs, fuel element spacers
- Gas turbines: Seals, shrouds, spacers
- Chemical processing: High-temp gaskets, bolts, and pressure vessels
- Springs and fasteners: Retain strength and elasticity even at high temps
