Underwater-Applicable Corrosion Inhibiting Primer Paste

The CNPetro-Paste 4kg is a 100% solid-content marine petrolatum paste engineered as the primary corrosion-inhibiting primer layer for the CNPetro anti-corrosion system. Formulated with water-displacing additives, passivating agents, and flow-control compounds, it is specifically designed for direct application to wet, damp, and even submerged steel surfaces.

Unlike conventional primers that require dry, blasted surfaces, CNPetro-Paste utilizes hydrophobic petrolatum chemistry to physically displace water from the substrate on contact, enabling underwater application without cofferdam construction or dewatering operations.

Application Instructions

1. Clean substrate to SP2 or SP3 using wire brushes or water blasting.
2. Apply paste uniformly by gloved hand or trowel; work into crevices and weld seams.
3. For pits deeper than 2 mm, fill completely and press firmly to eliminate air.
4. Verify uniform coverage at 2-5 m² per liter based on surface roughness.
5. Overwrap immediately with CNPetro-Tape - no drying time required.
