Diammonium hydrogen phosphate, also referred to as diammonium phosphate and commonly known as DAP, is typically found in the form of colorless transparent monoclinic crystals or a white powder.
It possesses a relative density of 1.619 and a melting point of 190℃. DAP demonstrates high solubility in water, leading to an alkaline aqueous solution. A 1% aqueous solution showcases a pH of 8.0, while a 0.1 mol/L solution exhibits a pH value of 7.8.
The compound remains insoluble in alcohol and dimethyl ketone. Upon exposure to air, approximately 8% of its ammonia content is gradually lost, resulting in the conversion to ammonium dihydrogen phosphate. Furthermore, DAP has the capacity to interact with ammonia water to generate triammonium phosphate.
