I. Function

The LR-A336 side light detector is designed in accordance with the national standard GB11614-2009 "Float Glass". It is a device used for detecting surface defects of float glass. When used in conjunction with an appearance inspection instrument, it can measure the quantity and size of various defects on float glass. It is an essential quality inspection equipment for float glass manufacturing enterprises.

II. Principle

The LR-A336 side light detector is equipped with iodine-tungsten lamps in a sealed light box. There is an opening slit on the light box. The glass is inserted horizontally into the slit and runs forward. Light enters the glass through the glass section. Due to the diffusion of light by various defects on the glass, the defects appear as bright spots on the glass surface. The positions of these bright spots are recorded. The types and sizes of the defects are then detected using an appearance inspection instrument and a reading microscope.
